In Karnataka, former Chief Minister, B.S.Yeddyurappa has announced his resignation from Legislative Assembly and from primary membership of BJP party. Mr. Yeddyurappa submitted his resignation to the Speaker of the Assembly and faxed it to the Party President, Nitin Gadkari.
Our correspondent adds that with the resignation from BJP Yeddyurappa has snapped 40 year long ties with the saffron party. He started his public life in 1970 and became the first BJP Chief Minister of BJP in South India.
Speaking to mediapersons in Bangalore today he said that it is painful to leave BJP after working hard to build it in the state. He criticised a few leaders of the state BJP for working against him and forcing him to resign as Chief Minister.
