Former Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police Gopal Sharma has been appointed as<br/><br/>Security Advisor to Manipur Chief Minister Ibobi Singh. Sharma, who retired as Chief of Shashtra Seema Bal or SSB, will have a tenure of two years during which he would be advising the Chief Minister on ways to tackle insurgency in the state.<br/><br/>The 1972-batch officer was selected after consultations with Centre. Sharma had the longest stint of nearly four years as the Director General of militancy-infested Jammu and Kashmir before moving to Centre to head the SSB.<br/>
