Former Jharkhand Minister and sitting Congress MLA Yogendra Sao has been arrested in Delhi for his alleged link with criminal organizations.

He was wanted in a case of Arms Act and facilitating commission of crime in Jharkhand. A Hazaribagh court had also issued non bailable warrants against him in the case.

Additional Commissioner of Delhi Police, Ashok Chand said that in a joint operation, Delhi Police Crime Branch and Jharkhand Police arrested the MLA from Shakarpur area of the national capital yesterday.

He said, Sao is the founder member of two criminal organizations, Jharkhand Tiger Group and Jharkhand Bachao Andolan and their members are involved in various criminal activities including murder, kidnapping for ransom and extortion. Mr Chand said, Sao has been taken on transit remand by Jharkhand Police.
