An Iraqi court on Tuesday sentenced to death former Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz who served under Saddam Hussein's regime. According to the state Iraqia television, the death sentence was given by the Supreme Criminal Court of Iraq in the case of liquidation of religious parties. The court also sentenced to death Saadoun Shaker, former interior minister, and Abdul Hamid al-Tikriti, secretary of Saddam, in the same case.
