Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi joins BJP

Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi has joined the BJP. She was given primary membership of the party through mobile. Party president Amit Shah and Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Dr. Harshvardhan and Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay were present on the occasion. Mr Amit Shah said that with her induction, the party will be strengthened. When asked about Chief Ministerial candidate of the party, he said party's Parliamentary Board will take a call on it. Mr Shah said, she will contest the Assembly elections. Mr Arun Jairley said, the BJP has a tradition of inducting experienced and honest people. Ms Bedi thanked the party for her induction. Earlier, she met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. AIR correspondent reports that Ms Bedi had been associated with Mr Arvind Kejriwal during the anti-corruption movement of Anna Hazare.
