Former India footballer Subhas Bhowmick dies at 72; CM Mamata Banerjee expresses her grief

Former India footballer and coach Subhas Bhowmick died in the wee hours today at a nursing home in Kolkata after a prolonged illness. He was 72 years.<br />''<br />''He was part of the 1970 Asian Games Bronze medal-winning team. He played for both East Bengal and Mohunbagan and coached the three major football teams at Kolkata in different phases of his career. He successfully guided East Bengal to the ASEAN cup title in 2003.
