In Gujarat, former Additional Director General of Police O P Mathur has appeared before CBI this morning in connection with Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. Mathur was head of the state CID (Crime), which was investigating the case before the Supreme Court handed it over to CBI. He was subsequently posted as Ahmedabad Police commissioner before retirement. He is presently Director General of Raksha-Shakti University inaugurated by Chief Minister Narendra Modi- last month.Mathur had been issued summons to appear before the CBI last month but did not appeared due to personal reasons. Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that Sohrabuddin was killed in a fake encounter near Ahmedabad in 2005 and later his wife Koser bi also allegedly murdered by the Gujarat Police.
