Former England cricket all-rounder Bailey dies at 87

Former England cricket all-rounder and BBC Test match special commentator Trevor Bailey has died in a fire accident in Essex. The England and Wales Cricket Board said this in London today. Bailey, 87, died, but firefighters rescued his wife. Regarded as one of England's most outstanding post war all-rounders, Bailey scored 2,290 runs in 61 Tests and took 132 wickets for England during his career. He was a member of the side which won three successive Ashes series against Australia in 1953, 1954-55 and 1956.
