Former Director General, News, All India Radio, G Mohanty joined the BJP in New Delhi today. He was felicitated by party General Secretary J P Nadda. Sixty-year-old Mohanty has also served as CBI spokesperson for many years.

Mohanty is among the fourth senior retired bureaucrats who joined the party during the last four months. The others are former Home Secretary R K Singh, ex-Raw chief Sanjeev Tripathi and India's former Permanent Representative to UN Hardeep Puri.
