Former Defence Chiefs urge PM to resolve OROP issue urgently

Ten former service chiefs have urged the government to resolve the issue of the one rank one rank one pension (OROP) urgently. In a letter to the Prime minister Narendra Modi today, the chiefs have also raised concern over the Delhi police action when they tried to evict forcefully ex servicemen from Jantar Mantar. In the letter, they have said all were expecting that Prime minister would announce OROP on the Independence Day.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, two army veterans have decided to go on indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar to push their demand for the implementation of One Rank One Pension scheme. The protestors have been on a relay hunger strike so far.
