Former Army officer protests near Swiss Embassy

<span style="color: #222222;">In Sri Lanka, a retired Army Officer has launched a protest fast demanding that the Swiss Embassy staff involved in the alleged abduction incident be produced to make a statement to the police.<br />''<br />'' Retired Major Ajith Prasanna, carrying a placard, sat in front of the Swiss Embassy in Colombo.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Relations issued a statement on the investigations stating that the account of the event as told by the Embassy does not match with the actual events that took place on that day. It said the investigations had been carried out without a statement from the alleged victim herself and the Foreign Ministry requested the cooperation of the Swiss Embassy in further investigations.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The alleged incident is regarding forced detention of a Swiss Embassy employee last Monday which the Swiss Government has termed very serious. The Embassy had earlier said that the victim is not in a situation to provide a statement, because of her health conditions. </span><br />''  <br />
