Former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani has been killed in an insurgent attack in the capital Kabul on Tuesday evening. He was killed at his home in the high security Wazir Akbar Khan area.He was meeting two members of the Taliban at the time of the blast. Mr Rabbani was the head of the High Peace Council and was leading negotiations with the insurgents for peace talks. External Affairs Minister S M Krishna has condemned the suicide attack. He said that this is an act of brutality.
