In Assam, formal notification for the second phase of Assembly election was issued this morning. State Election Department sources said that 96 lakh 57 thousand 528 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in the second phase of election scheduled to be held on 11th of next month . Sixty four constituencies are to be covered in 14 districts of Central and Lower Assam in this phase.Meanwhile, a total of 529 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the first phase of Assembly elections scheduled to be held on 4th of next month in 62 constituencies spread over 13 districts. The scrutiny of nominations for this phase has already started. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is 21st of this month. A total of 85 lakh 3 thousand 117 voters are expected to cast their vote in the first phase of polling.The AIUDF is likely to declare its second list of candidates this evening. The Trinmool Congress has announced its second list of candidates in 43 constituencies. The party earlier declared its first list of candidates in 55 constituencies.
