The Central Forestry Panel will examine tomorrow the report of the four-member committee, set up by the Environment ministry to look into the violations of environmental norms by Korean Steel giant Posco in Orissa. The 4-member panel submitted its split report to the Environment minister Mr Jairam Ramesh on 18th of this month. The Committee, headed by former Environment Secretary, Meena Gupta, had delivered a split report. While three members — Urmila Pingle, Devendra Pandey and V Suresh — pointed out serious lapses and illegalities in its Environment Impact Assessment, Ms Meena Gupta is of the opinion that the Posco can be asked to conduct fresh environment impact assessment.
