In Assam, search operation has been intensified on Sunday in Singhasan hills of Karbi Anglong district to find out the whereabouts of the abducted forest officials. Suspected Karbi Peoples’ Liberation Tiger, KPLT militant abducted Chief Conservator of Forest Abhijit Rabha and Range Forest Officer Ranjan Baruah on Saturday from Batlog area when they were returning to Diphu after conducting a survey.Talking to AIR, Karbi Anglong’s Superintendent of Police said that all steps have been taken to rescue the forest officials safely. He further said that, police has made significant progress in the rescue operation and hoped to bring back them soon. Meanwhile, KPLT denied its role in the abduction case.AIR correspondent reports, it is the second incident of abduction in the hill district within a span of two months. The anti-talk militant group of Karbi Anglong district is suspected to be involved in both the incidents. All the political parties, various organizations urged the kidnappers to release both the forest officials. Abhijit Rabha , who was also worked as the Director of the Manas National Park ,has recently undergone a critical ailment.The Chief Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonoums Council, Jayram Ingley urged the abductors to release them on humanitarian grounds. He also said that Assam government has instructed the Council to take all necessary steps so that both the officials can be rescued at earliest.
