Minister of State for Home Mr. Hansraj Ahir has emphasized that forensic science is an important part of the judicial process. Addressing the 38th Annual National Conference of Indian Academy of Forensic Medicine at IIT Mumbai on Thursday, Mr. Ahir said that forensic science can help in increasing conviction rate, reduce lengthy trial period and eventually increase the faith of citizens in judiciary. <br/><br/>The minister said he was pleased to note that this conference will include legal experts and senior police officials who will discuss legal reforms needed in the light of forensic evidence. He declared that the government remains committed to provide all facilities required to advance the use of forensic medicine and science in the country.<br/>
