The Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Anil Madhav Dave has exhorted tourists from across the world to come to India to see the Tiger.<br/><br/>Speaking at a function to celebrate the International Tiger Day in New Delhi today, the Minister said India has 2, 226 Tigers, which constitutes 70 per cent of the population of Tigers the world over. He said the Tigers are spread out in over 17 States and 49 sanctuaries across the country. <br/><br/>The Minister stated, a healthy Tiger is a symbol of healthy environment. He hoped that India will be able to double the population of its Tigers by the year 2022 by conserving and caring for them. The Minister later flagged off the Walk for Tiger.
