Foreign Secretary Dr. S. Jaishankar recently visited the United States as part of regular bilateral consultations. He met with the members of the current Administration and had meetings in the US Congress.<br/><br/>MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said, Foreign Secretary also interacted with very senior levels of the US President-elect Donald Trump transition team.<br/><br/>On the appointment of Indian-American Nikki Hailey as Permannent Representative of US to United Nations, Mr Swarup said, she has been a very strong and committed advocate of close Indo-US ties.
