Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai is leaving on a two day visit to Sri Lanka tomorrow. A host of global, regional and bilateral issues are expected to be discussed during the visit.
He will hold discussions on bilateral relations, regional and global issues with his Sri Lankan counterpart Karunatillake Amunugama. He will also review developmental projects being taken up in various parts of Northern Sri Lanka under Government of India's assistance.
According to an official press release, Mr. Mathai is scheduled to call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa and other senior leaders, including Leader of Opposition Ranil Wickremasinghe and representatives of the Tamil National Alliance.
The Foreign Secretary will also review the progress made during the meeting of the 4th India-Sri Lanka Joint Working Group on Fisheries scheduled on 7th October 2011 in Colombo.
