Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar reached Colombo last evening on a three-day visit, during which he will meet Sri Lanka's top leadership and explore possibilities for bilateral cooperation.<br/><br/>Mr Jaishankar is scheduled to meet Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and other Sri Lankan leaders tomorrow. A wide range of bilateral issues will come up for discussions during the meetings and will carry forward the close exchanges with Sri Lanka. <br/><br/>The bilateral relations have been focused on economic and maritime projects in recent past and the Foreign Secretary is scheduled to review collaboration and cooperation in a number of sectors including power, highways, airport and hydrocarbon. Both sides may also review progress of talks on proposed Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement in order to boost cooperation in services sector.<br/><br/>The Sri Lankan government has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest during International Vesak festival in May and the proposed visit may also come up for discussions.
