Foreign Ministers from 20 countries are set to meet in Canada to discuss North Korea's nuclear and missile programmes. The United States and Canada will host the meeting today in Vancouver. The gathering will be attended by countries that sent troops to the UN forces in the Korean War, as well as Japan and South Korea. <br/><br/>A dinner party was held yesterday. Attendees included US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono and South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha. Later, the Foreign Ministers of the United States, Japan, South Korea and Canada reportedly gathered to exchange views on the North Korea issue. <br/><br/>North and South Korea recently began discussing the North's participation in the Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics next month. The talks are seen as an attempt by North Korea to drive a wedge in the US-South Korea alliance and loosen international sanctions.'<br/><br/>China and Russia have opposed the Vancouver meeting and will not attend.<br/><br/>The United States wants to discuss ways to ensure the sanctions are enforced, in order to increase pressure on the North and force it to give up its nuclear programme.
