A Bill seeking to frame stricter regulations of foreign contributions was introduced in the Lok Sabha today. The Bill relates the regulations in the form of gifts and funds to individuals and organisations in social fields. The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Bill, 2010 was passed by the Rajya Sabha earlier this week. It also seeks to prohibit acceptance and utilisation of foreign contribution or foreign hospitality for any activities detrimental to the national interest. Introducing the Bill, the Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr Ajay Maken said the government has accepted 12 of the 14 amendments recommended by the Standing Committee.
