Forces loyal to Gaddafi firing rockets on rebel positions

Forces loyal to Col. Gaddafi have been firing rockets on rebel positions from the town of Wani Waleed which is one of the former leader's last remaining bastions in Libya . Earlier Col. Gaddafi sent a message to supporters urging them to fight on. According to a report, about ten rockets landed near rebel positions some way from Wani Walid. Soon afterwards, NATO aircraft were searching rocket launchers. Overnight there a was skirmish between the rebels and Gaddafi loyalists in which one man was killed and another injured.The situation is getting increasingly tense as a deadline which has already been extended once now approaches. The rebel say they have completely surrounded the town. But the Chief negotiator for the rebels told journalists he believed there was still time to bring about a peaceful solution.
