In Jammu and Kashmir, Security forces had launched a search operation in Kandi forest area in the frontier Kupwara district early today. However, late till evening there was no contact with militants who were believed to be present in the area. <br/><br/>The operation stands halted for now even though vast forest area continues to be under seige.<br/><br/>Meanwhile there was a relative calm at line of control in north Kashmir today after Indian army claimed to have inflicted heavy losses on enemy and destroyed their four posts across line of control in Karan sector last night.
