In Football, India recorded their first win away from home in almost 11 years as they defeated Cambodia 3-2 in an international friendly at Phnom Penh yesterday. India, currently 132nd in the FIFA rankings, was playing their first international friendly this year, against Cambodia, who are 41 places below them. Sunil Chhetri, Jeje Lalpekhlua and Sandesh Jhingan were the goal scorers for India, while Cambodia found the target through Khoun Laboravy and Chan Vathanaka.The victory will give India a boost ahead of the forthcoming AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers at Yangon. They will take on Myanmar in the first leg match on Tuesday.
