Foot march an unforgettable experience: Rahul

Congress National General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Aligarh this afternoon to participate in the Kisan Maha Panchayat at Numaish Maidan of the town. AIR correspondent reports the beginning of the Maha Panchayat was delayed due to continuous rain.Large number of farmers and villagers from different parts of the state are gathered at the venue for listening to the congress leader Rahul Gandhi and conveying their voices to him on land acquisition and other agrarian issues. Several union minister including Sachin Pilot, Salman Khurshid, Jitin Prasad, SriprakashJaiswal etc are also present at Maha Panchayat.Terming his foot march as an unforgettable experience, Rahul Gandhi has said he had gained a world of knowledge on land acquisition issues and it could not be forgotten in lifetime.The foot march was flagged off from twin villages Bhatta Parsaul in Gautam Buddha Nagar district on Tuesday and Congress leader has visited more than one dozen villages affected with the Yamuna Expressway project in three districts of Aligarh, Mathura andGautam Buddha Nagar.Meanwhile, the Special Task Force of the UP Police has arrested farmer leader Manveer Tevatia from New Delhi in connection with farmer police clash at Bhatta Parsaul Villages on May 7. The State Government had announced a reward of Rs 50 thousand on his head.
