Foot and mouth disease detected in pigs in east China

In China, the Ministry of Agriculture announced yesterday that foot-and-mouth disease has been detected at a pig pen in Ganzhou city in east China's Jiangxi Province.So far, the outbreak has been kept under control. The disease came to light when 223 pigs at Luqi Village in Ganzhou appeared to be ill on March 28.No animal fatalities have been reported. Medical experts on foot-and-mouth disease confirmed the sick pigs were suffering from Type-O Swine Foot and Mouth Disease.
