Fool-proof security for re-poll with EC coordination: Arunachal IJP

In Arunachal Pradesh, the Election Commission, EC, has ordered re-polling in 34 polling stations in five districts, under both the Parliamentary constituencies, Arunachal West and Arunachal East, and the concerned 11 Assembly seats.

The re-polling will be held on April 19th. State Chief Electoral Officer, Chandra Bhushan Kumar told AIR that voting will be held from 6AM to 2PM.

The highest number of booths for re-poll, 12, has been identified in Kurung Kumey district where disturbances pertaining to damaging of EVMs, malfunctioning of EVMs and intra-party clashes were reported during the April 9th simultaneous voting for both the LS seats and 49 assembly constituencies.

Arunachal IGP (Law and Order), Satyendra Garg told AIR that special measures in coordination with EC have been taken to ensure fool-proof security during the proposed re-polling.
