Foodgrains production of over 316 million tonnes is estimated for 2021-22 in the country

Government has said that record foodgrains production of over 316  million tonnes is estimated for 2021-22 in the country. This is higher by 5.32 million tonnes than the production of foodgrain during 2020-21. The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry today released the Second Advance Estimates of production of major crops for 2021-22. The production during this financial year is higher by 25.35 million tonnes than the previous five years average production of foodgrains.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Agriculture Minister Narender Singh Tomar has said the new record of foodgrains production in the country is the result of hard work of farmers, efficient research of scientists and farmer friendly policies of the Government.</span><br />
