Foodgrain production is expected to be 216.85 million tonne during the current financial year. The Government on Friday released the 2nd Advance Estimates of production of major crops in the country. Production of rice is estimated at 87.56 million tonne, wheat at 80.28 and pulses at 14.74 million tonne. The production of oilseeds has been estimated at 26.32 million tonnes. A press release said, the foodgrains production during the Rabi season in 2009-10 is expected to exceed the last Rabi season’s production, which was an all time record.<br/><br/>Country's Industrial output rose to a robust 16.8 per cent in December last as against 11.7 per cent in November. Overall, the Industrial Production grew by 8 per cent in the first nine months of this fiscal. The industrial growth reflects the results yielded by the three stimulus packages for the economy.
