The food security bill aimed at wiping out hunger from the country will be tabled in Parliament soon.
This was disclosed by UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Dlehi today.
She was launching the “Dilli Annshri Yojna” – the food security scheme of the Delhi government.
Sonia Gandhi said, under the Annshri Yojna, the senior most woman member of vulnerable households, will get 600 rupees per month.
This will be directly transferred to their bank accounts.
Besides eliminating the leakages in the current Public Distribution System, the scheme will provide an option to spend the money as per the family's need.
It will cover 2 lakh families, who are not covered under the Public Distribution System.
