The Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006 has come into force from today across the country. The Act will ensure improved quality of food for the consumers making it at par with the international standards. Speaking exclusively to AIR, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India CEO V N Gaur said, the Act talks of providing safe food to people. Gaur said Food Safety and Standard Act subsume various central Acts related to Food and Adulteration.
