Minister for Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said food processing sector is growing at a faster rate than agriculture and services sectors.<br/><br/>Addressing a function in New Delhi, Ms Badal said, the industry has huge potential for uplifting agricultural economy. The Minister said, the objective is to make India the food factory of the world. She said, the Finance Minister in his budget speech in Parliament announced permitting 100 percent FDI under FIPB route for marketing, including through e-commerce of food products manufactured and produced in India. <br/><br/>The Minister said, 100 percent FDI under automatic route is permitted in manufacturing activity of food processing industry. She said that she is leading official ministerial delegations to all over the world to promote FDI and investment into India. MS Kaur said, the initial response has been tremendously encouraging.
