Union Minister for Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur has said that the food processing is a sunrise sector in the country. Talking to media in the sidelines of Make in India week in Mumbai today, she said that cheap and affordable food for all sections is priority of the government. <br/><br/>The government has several steps for promotion of food processing. She strongly advocated the FDI in the multi brand retail agriculture. She said that FDI should be allowed for processing of food grains produced in India. <br/><br/>Mrs. Kaur said that 42 mega food parks are being set up in the country. Out of these, seven are now operational. She informed that 100 new cold chains for storage will be set up in the next financial year.
