The government said that the food prices will come down in a couple of months with the arrival of Rabi crops and expects the economy to grow by 6.5 per cent in the current fiscal. Expressing concern over the price rise of food at the Economic Editors' Conference in New Delhi, the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission, Dr.Ahluwalia said the food prices have started coming down and will decline further in the next few months with the arrival of Rabi crop. The Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said that due to deficient monsoons and floods the prices will not come down immediately. Expressing confidence that the trade and industry will be on the path of positive growth in the final quarter of the current fiscal, the Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said that the government will intervene and do more for the sectors which require support.
