Food inflation marginally eases

Country's food inflation marginally eased to 7.61 percent from 7.78 percent in the previous week backed by cheaper pulses and vegetable prices. Prices of other food items, milk, eggs, meat and fruits, however, remained high during the week. Government data showed today that fuel inflation too came down to 12.67 per cent from 12.98 percent last week. Food inflation was closed 20 percent during the same period last year. The primary articles price index was 11.56 percent, compared with an annual rise of 11.84 percent a week earlier.
