Food inflation falls to 11.81% for week ended Oct 29

Food Inflation has registered a decline of 0.87 percent for the week ended 29th October on year on year basis. According to the official data released today food inflation for the week ended 29th October stood at 11.81 percent compared to 12.68 percent on year on year basis.The food inflation in the previous week stood at 12.21 percent. The decline of 0.40 percent on weekly basis is due to the marginal fall in prices of vegetables, oilseeds, eggs, and meat and fish products.While the rate of inflation in vegetable prices was nearly 26 percent for the week ending 29th October compared to 29 percent in the previous week, rate of inflation in egg, meat and fish products declined to 12.74 percent from 13.36 percent in the same time period.However rate of inflation in pulses grew by nearly two percent during the time.
