Moderating prices of essential food items like onions, potatoes, and milk pulled down inflation to 9.11 per cent in November, this year. Inflation, as measured by the Wholesale Price Index, had stood at 9.73 per cent in October this year, and at 8.2 per cent in November last year.As per the data released, today, inflation in food articles dipped to 8.54 per cent in November, this year, from 10.14 per cent in November last year.Inflation in the manufactured products segment was 7.7 per cent in November 2011, against 5.02 per cent in November 2010.The rate of price rise in vegetables stood at 12 per cent in November this year, compared to a 1.36 per cent contraction in November last year. However onion prices fell by over 34 per cent in November this year.
