Food and Public Distribution Minister K.V. Thomas has said that the Government was committed to introduce National Food Security Bill in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament.

Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Thomas said the Government had evolved a consensus on various provisions of the Bill, which ensures food for every citizen of the country. He added that the Government had held rigorous consultations with all the stakeholders, including the state governments, to settle various contentious issues.

Mr. Thomas said the Cabinet would take up the Bill for approval on Monday.
