Sri Lanka President, Mahinda Rajapaksa said that former Army Chief and defeated opposition consensus Presidential candidate, Sarath Fonseka would be released if he is proven not guilty of the charges leveled against him. He told this to the leader of the opposition and a former Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesing. He said that all facilities will be given to General Sarath Fonseka without causing him any inconvenience .<br/><br/>Separately, the Army spokesperson Prasad Samarasinghe said that the Army Commander has approved the request made by Mrs. Fonseka to make available the services of the usual Doctor who had been treating the former Army Chief.<br/>
