Fonseka ready to face any probe on sensational charges against him

In Sri Lanka, former Army Chief Sarath Fonseka said that he is ready to face any probe on charges of involvement in intimidation, harassment and targeting of journalists during his military career.<br/><br/>In remarks to a select group of media personnel on Monday, the retired commander and contender for the January 26 Presidential election promised full media freedom, if he is elected to power. Fonseka formally signed the Presidential nomination papers today that would be submitted on December 17.<br/><br/>Fonseka had on Monday filed three Fundamental Right cases against state media organizations on their alleged misuse for political gains and challenged the state owned Rupavahini Corporation, Independent Television Network(ITN), and the News Papers published by the State owned Associated News Paper Company Ltd for being partial in their support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa.<br/>
