This medium of storytelling has been instilling moral values in the minds of the people for generations. It has been one of the predominant traditional media in Tamil Nadu, southern Kerala and a few other regions in the South.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In Villupattu, which the Prime Minister has referred to, vill is the bow that serves as the musical instrument and the paattu is the series of songs, using which mostly moral stories were being presented by traditional artists before the public. The stories ranged from mythology, mostly representing the village deities to themes of social reforms and health awareness. Iconic teams like Subbu Arumugham troupe reigned the Villupattu world for long. However, the ancient art form is now crying for public attention for its preservation.</span><br />
