A special CBI court in Ranchi today could not take up the hearing on the pronouncement of quantum of sentence to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad and 15 others convicted in a fodder scam case. The proceedings were postponed due to the passing away of advocate Vindeshwari Pathak. <br/><br/>The arguments on the sentencing against all the 16 accused is likely to begin tomorrow. After the hearing was delayed, Lalu Prasad and others were taken back to the Birsa Munda Central jail in Ranchi. <br/><br/>They were held guilty by the court on the 23rd of last month. The case relates to illegal withdrawal of over 89 lakh rupees from the Deoghar treasury from 1991 to 1994, when Lalu Prasad was the Chief Minister.<br/><br/>As soon as the Judge of the Special CBI Court of Ranchi, Shivpal Singh, started the proceeding, suo moto cognizance of Contempt of Court proceeding was taken up by the Judge and notices were issued against four important politicians- RJD leaders Raghuwansh Pd Singh, Tejaswi Yadav, Shivanand Tiwari and Congress leader Manish Tiwari, for their utterance in media which allegedly amounted to scandalising judgement the the Court. <br/><br/>The Court also issued notices to two witnesses- Sukhdev Singh and DP Ojha, for making them as accused of the case. Two approvers – Shiv Kumar Patwari and Sailesh Kumar Singh, were also issued notices for removing their names from the list of approvers.<br/>
