Focus on transparent selection: Centre to state PSCs

The Centre has asked state Public Service Commissions to adopt best practices for transparent selection process. Inaugurating the 12th 1National Conference of Chairpersons of State Public Service Commissions the Minister of Personnel, Public Grievances and pension, Mr Prithviraj Chavan asserted that State Public Service Commissions should work out a purposeful training procedure for the officers and staff to help their effective functioning. He said that the country's economic growth is now picking up after global meltdown and the role of civil servants is very important for smooth imlementation of National development programme across the country. The Chairman of the Union public Service Commission, Mr D.P Aggarwal also present on the occassion. AIR correspondent adds that the two day conference will provide a platform to the heads of UPSC and State Commission chiefs to exchange and sharing of information about important issues including selection of candidates and conduct of examinations.
