In Nepal, the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) today organized demonstrations and streets rallies in various parts of the country to protest against brutal attack on Rukum-based journalist Tika Bista who sustained serious injury.Journalists staged demonstrations outside the District Administrative offices in Kathmandu and various other districts demanding action against those involved in assaulting journalist Bista.The Rajdhani daily Correspondent Tika Bista, in her early 20s was stabbed by an unidentified group of miscreants and left to die in a forest in Rukum. She was rescued and flown to Kathmandu for treatment yesterday. Home Minister Bhim Rawal and Communication Minister Shankar Pokhrel condemned the incident and said the guilty would be arrested and given stringent punishment.
