Finance Minister P. Chidambaran will review the implementation of pilot project of direct cash subsidy scheme at Alwar in Rajasthan today. The pilot project started a few months back in Kot Kasim Panchayat Samiti of Alwar District. There is a plan to link various subsidies and facilities being given by these departments with direct cash subsidy scheme. In Kot kasim, Kerosene distribution through PDS was linked with these schemes. The result of the project was surprising. In November 2011, quota of Kerosene for Kot Kasim was 80,000 liters but after implementation of direct cash subsidy, it came down to 5700 liters.
