The annual performance of public sector banks and financial institutions will be reviewed by the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in a meeting with their heads in New Delhi today. An official statement said that Mr Mukherjee will also review the flow of agriculture credit, micro, small and medium enterprises credit, disbursement of housing and education loans. Issues related to infrastructure lending, implementation of interest subsidy schemes for housing the urban poor and lending to minority communities will also be discussed during the meeting. The Government has set a target of 4 lakh, 75 thousand crore rupees for agriculture credit for this financial year.
