Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the hike in prices of petroleum products will have some inflationary impact in the short-term but price pressures will moderate from the middle of July. Talking to reporters in Mumbai after a meeting with bankers and Chief Ministers of western and central states, he said his economic adviser has told him that there will be 0.9 per cent direct impact on inflation, besides, some cascading effect. <br/> <br/> The Finance Minister said that there is a need to ensure that financial literacy and financial inclusion is integrated with the technological development of banking infrastructure in rural and semi -urban areas. He advised the banks to convert savings from semi-urban and rural markets into financial assets through effective financial inclusion. <br/>
