Finance Minister Arun Jaitley says, easy availability of narcotics is leading to rising drug abuse in the country. Speaking at an event organised by Central Board of Excise and Customs in New Delhi today Jaitley said that easy availability could be due to a lot of cross-border smuggling of narcotics into India.He said social menaces are never cured by law alone. They are cured only when a large section of society participates in campaign. Jaeitly pointed out that the number of those who are addicted in some small and large measure in narcotics runs into several crores in India. Calling for creating awareness against the menace in the country, he said drug abuse not only affects an individual but the society as a whole.
