Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that the concerns of agriculture sector are high on the priority of the government. Holding pre-budget consultation with the representatives of agriculture sector in New Delhi today, Mr. Jaitely said, despite the constraints of the economy, the government will try its best to boost this sector.During the meeting, representatives of the sector made various suggestions including establishing a Kissan TV Channel to create awareness among farmers about new technologies, government programmes and quality parameters. They also gave suggestions about timely decision on Minimum Support Price at cost of production plus 50 per cent, efficient procurement policy, setting-up of boards for different commodities and water conservation as a national priority with focus on drip and sprinkler irrigation.Later, the Finance Minister also held consolations with social sector related groups.
